This score accompanies a very short film - just 42 seconds long - made by the Hepworth Studios, Walton On Thames, in 1899. A dog-cart ambles along a country lane and disappears out of sight, leaving a dust cloud behind it. As the dust settles, one of those strange new-fangled horseless carriages appears, heading straight for the camera. Despite frantic waves from the driver and passenger, they come nearer and nearer and drive smack into the screen. Must have been pretty unnerving stuff in those days!!! Etched by hand into the blackness at the end are the words "Oh dear, mother will be pleased!".
