This is the third in a series of short works for piano, written for, and dedicated to, members of the composer's family, his friends, and his piano-playing acquaintances./The dedicatees of this piece, written for four hands (at one or two pianos), are the two MPs, William Hague and Boris Johnson, who, like the composer, commenced their piano studies relatively late in life./In several bars of the work, the dedicatees' initials, alphabetically/musically encoded, may be detected./ This composition should be played with a great deal of expressiveness, and, where needed, a little "rubato"./This work (Opus 6, Number 3A) also exists in a version for two hands (Opus 6, Number 3B), with the latter incorporating exactly the same notation and dynamics as the former.
