This is the fourth song in the cycle Songs Of Reminiscence set to poems by Thomas Hardy, in which a group of musicians in a village band make a journey to the Manor House at Christmas to play the "waits" for the Lady of the Manor. When they arrive they are surprised to see her at a window dancing in her nightdress. On returning home each member of the group silently wonders why she was dancing. Later they learn that her husband had died, and each surmises the reason, but they never talk about it. All proceeds from any sales of this music will go to Angels Charity for Autism Support in Hertfordshire U.K. Many thanks
