This Sunday is "Shepherd Sunday." Psalm 23 has got to be the Bible's most familiar psalm. And today, it is not only the responsorial psalm, but its theme is featured two other times in the Liturgy of the Word: in the second reading (1 Peter 2:20-25) and the Gospel reading from John 10 ("I am the gate for the sheep…whoever enters through me will be saved…")

Because of it's popularity, Psalm 23 is also the psalm most often set to music. So here's my take on these great lyrics of King David. I can't wait to hear his original version when we get to heaven! We've all heard this one read so many times, we often forget that it was actually written to be sung!
