Solveg's Song ( Slow Beat \ Jazz Waltz, Clarinet and Piano )
"Solveg's Song" is from "Peer Gynt" a play by author Henrik Ibsen with incidental music, suite No2, Opus 55, by Edward Grieg. Solveg is a girl who Peer Gynt abandons and this 'lament' is a song that she sings portraying her sadness, and hopes that someday he will return. In this arrangement I have the song an update with a modern Slow Beat style, and the 3-4 section into a Jazz Waltz. The ad lib style cadenza is my inovation and represents Peer Gynt "cocking a snook".
