Symphony No 1 - Third Movement
The English composer William Boyce's 'Symphonys', as he called and spelt them, were rather more chamber pieces for small orchestras or ensembles, often put together from pieces written for theatrical performances, than symphonies in the larger orchestral mould of later composers. They have a great charm and remain popular. This movement, the thrid, from the first of the eight 'symphonys' is presented here in its full version for 2 Oboes, Bassoon, Violins 1 and 2, Viola and Cello. Separate parts for all instruments are available.
