Written for the 50th birthday of my father. He has everything he needs to be happy, so I guessed since he was playing in a band when he was young he might like a short piece of music.
I tried to use a smart compositional approach: I kept thinking for quite some days which would be the right way to craft it. My father's a fisherman and so in the end I decided that the piece should be quirky and fun, with a melody moving up and down like the fin of a fish (ok, that moves left and right, but lets assume it for now…). I also tried to incorporate some other styles than boogie, while maintaining that jaunty quality. It starts very sad (with a different phrased minor-version of the theme), to make him wonder what the heck his crazy son did this time…

p.s.: 350 views, 28 prints and 1 review later I really feel flattered! Thanks to everybody who spent some time listening to this silly song! You might try some of my other compositions. I think some are way better than this one…
Another Update: Now this piece is at 1322 views. One of the viewers (who was reading this, just like you do right now) took the time to write some words about it. 57 people printed this piece, but never tried to contact me. Does make you think, doesn't it?
