You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices. The Water Music by George Frideric Handel was first performed in 1717 on the River Thames for King George I, in one of the most celebrated royal concerts in musical history. This vibrant arrangement by Keith Terrett brings Baroque brilliance to the modern concert band.
The featured Allegro takes the form of a grand Trumpet Voluntary, showcasing a quartet of two C Trumpets and two French Horns with band accompaniment. Themes are exchanged in echo style between trumpets and horns, creating a striking antiphonal effect. Soloists may be positioned traditionally at the front or spatially separated for enhanced drama.
Optional harpsichord adds authentic Baroque colour, and performers are encouraged to ornament da capo passages in period style.
A perfect centrepiece for themed concerts, historical programmes, or festive occasions — especially when paired with period costume for added theatrical flair.
