I was recently hired to play for a church group’s sing-a-long event and thought it might be interesting to share my idea of how to do it. You don’t have to worry about the exact harmonizations of the hymnals since most folks just sing the melody. The piece should have a strong rhythm throughout and intros/interludes/endings to make it more interesting. If there’s any interest in this type of arrangement I’d be glad to do more.
