After a short break, it was about time I started writing some material again. I'm continuing with my French series, selecting works from different periods of that country's musical history.
This is my version of the easily recognisable "Pr�lude et Grand pas des Chasseresses" from Delibes' ballet suite, "Sylvia". I have freely interpretated the score to suit the needs of the brass band. It was sourced originally from an orchestral MIDI file and at time of writing didn't have a recording to further judge detail and colour. Anyhow, I got a copy of the piano reduction (by Delibes) & also a recoding to help me a little. Only a couple of tweaks regarding tempo markings were necessary (and a little more … now completed!) Hope you enjoy this ditty!
