Orfeo has been permitted to bring his wife back from the underworld, provided he does not look at her during the return journey. He fails to meet this stipulation, turning to see her face, and so she dies. Grief-stricken, Orfeo asks what he will do without her.
This arrangement is for mixed woodwind duet of flute and clarinet in B-flat.
