This is a neo-classical bassoon concerto, not too demanding but with enough possibilities for the soloist to show off. The 1st movement is gracious and moderately fast and in sonata form; the movement contains a lyrical cadenza. The 2nd movement is a slow and moving cantilene, with a solemn and dramatic middle section, all built upon one theme. The final movement is a very up-tempo galop in rondo form. Enjoy the MP3 based on a digital recording in Sibelius 6 with Kontakt Player Gold. This digital performance is also uploaded on my YouTube-channel with the score moving; feel free to make a comment there.
