This Tushetian dirge is traditionally sung by women, and the lyrics can be translated as follows:
"Mother would like to die for you, my child, / she is destroyed, your own mother. My child, where did you go with pack and shepherd's coat, / where did you leave the shepherd's staff, which was at your side? My child, I will throw / the black bridle over your horse, let it out into forest and field. Mother would like to die for you, my child, / she is destroyed, your own mother."
