The first book of solo guitar preludes which are 24 in number. These first six pieces may be categorised as Programme Music in accordance with their titles which are descriptive of Greek urban life of the last century, but they are also associated with the London area of Kew Gardens, as they were written all there in the winter of 1981-1982. They are all of moderate technical difficulty (except no. 3 perhaps) and of short duration.
