It is for solo voice or unison ensemble. There is no meter to the piece–its rhythms follow the traditional prayer lyrics. It should have been written with no bar lines, but I could not make my Sibelius do that! In Am, with an Aeolian modal feel. It would also sound beautiful with a simple A-E 5th drone underneath the melody. I woke up from a deep dream with this haunting melody in my head, set with these traditional sacred words.
