Faure's Requiem is without doubt his best known work and one that displays his magical way with haunting harmonies. In Paradisum is the final movement of 7 and, in the original, is scored mostly for a solo soprano with a very light acompaniment. This arrangment, whilst not especially demanding in respect of the actual notes, requires a player with the ability to play long, sustained, smooth phrases, mostly quietly and a strong emboucher will be essential. Although arranged for cornet/trumpet, it will also suite euphonium / baritone or tombone.
