After a short introduction the melody of "In the Bleak Midwinter" (The Crown, Downton Abbey) appears in the left hand with right hand accompaniment, and passes to the right hand as "Silent Night" is introduced. Short transitions with "Angels We Have Heard on High" and "Joy To the World" add familiarity for the listener who may be less acquainted with the von Holst composition. The first two hymns appear again, at times overlapping or with variation. Appropriate for worship, concert, recital. Advanced intermediate. Performance Time: 3:50.
