This song came to me while attending the University of Utah as a jazz comp major. (Around 1980) Originally it was a jazz ballad, but in arranging for choir it turned into a bit of a jazz classical blend. I want to give a shout out to my grandson Corban Kerr for adding some fun spice to this arrangement. The lyrics are a bit sappy, but I just couldn't resist. They have always captured my wonderment from my earliest memories as a boy.
Since the voices are not pronouncing words, I'll write them here.
opening section: a ba a ba (etc.)
1st verse: The stars the stars in love.
Singing a love song to Jesus.
I hear their melody.
Singing with them in love.
2nd verse: The stars adorned with light.
Piercing through darkness declaring
God so beautiful.
Even in darkest night.
chorus: There is no speech
where their voice is not heard.
Shining through the universe.
The stars the stars in love.
Singing a love song to Jesus.
Listen with your spirit (3x's)
When you hear their song. (2x's)
You will be singing with them in love.
Repeat 1st verse.
Tag: Singing with them in love. Love (5xs) to end.
