Composition for full symphony orchestra with large percussion section. Players should be at least grade 6 standard to be comfortable with playing this. The composition features the instrument 'bubbles' to signify the bubbling geothermal mud pools of Rotorua. This involves the player blowing down a piece of tubing into a liquid filled vessel, such as a straw in a glass of water. Ideally the player would have a series of different sized tubes and vessels, such as a siphon and water-filled bucket, in order to produce a number of different pitches, and more than one player at once across the different pitches would enhance the effect.
