Niobe's Tears for unaccompanied flute was composed in 1990 for my sister, Patricia Carbon. Lucy Stimson premiered the work in Nottingham, England in 1991. In Greek mythology, Niobe was the daughter of Tantalus, who turned to stone while bewailing the loss of her children. For additional program notes and information about the composer please visit
