CAROLS FOR AUDIENCE AND ORCHESTRA Many orchestras, both amateur and professional, encourage their audience to ’sing-a-long’ carols during their Christmas Concerts. Here is an arrangement that gives the orchestra something more to do than play a straight forward ’hymn-book’ version for every verse.
The singers (audience) are in unison and the orchestra parts are simple enough to need little rehearsal.
The conductor, or MC, should tell the audience that there is an intro. to verse 3 and that everyone sings all of the ’O come let us adore him’s’ The very grand finish makes it an excellent finale to the concert.
All these ’Carols for Audience’ have been played by the Kent Concert Orchestra at their annual Christmas Concerts in the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury and now by various orchestras all over the world due to the wonder of Sibelius.
Scoring: 2 (2nd Picc.) 2,2,2 - 4,2,3,1 - Timps, S.Drum, B.Drum, Cymb. - Harp (Optional) and Strings.

Reviews of O Come All Ye Faithful
I am writing as Chair of the London Medical Orchestra committee to thank you for the carol arrangements. As you may know, we performed five of them at our Christmas concert on 14 December 2014. It was a hugely successful event, raising more than £1000 for Freedom from Torture as well as over £1000 for the orchestra, in order to enable us to continue to support medically-related charities and make great music. We played to a packed house, and the audience thoroughly enjoyed singing the carols with us, and were helped along in this by the Tottenham Community Choir.
I wish you all the best for 2015 and thank you again.
