Here is Borodin's classic story of two caravans. The first, with its unmistakable Russian tune introduced at Fig.5, sets off towards the Steppes southwards to the ever expanding Russian empire. Progress continues until we meet an Asian caravan at 156. The two combine at 193 and join forces until they go their separate ways at 228, the Russians leading off at 270.
