I wrote this piece originally for 2 guitars, keys, bas and drums, but recently adapted it for just 1 guitar, keys, bass and drums. I incorporated the 2nd guitar part into both the 1st guitar part and the keyboard part.
As this is essentially a progressive rock composition, it is flexible, to some extent, in that the obvious lead/solo lines may be improvised and various "jam" sections may be extended as determined by the performer. Also, the timbre of each instrument should be determined by the performers. I’ve used the types of sounds that I have available in Sibelius. There are a number of points in the composition when it would make sense to change timbres. For example, adding extra distortion/overdrive in measure 87, would be very appropriate and would add to the effectiveness of that passage.
