"The Lange Wapper" is a figure of legend from the city of Antwerp. His origins are unkown, but it is suggested there was a
supernatural involvement in his birth and in the creation of his magical powers which included the ability to leap over long
distances. While he started off as a force of good, he soon changed to more mischievous pursuits, including terrorising drunks
as they left pubs. Eventually the citizens grew seriously tired of his activities and asked for the assistance of the Virgin Mary
to rid them of his presence. It is intended to capture some of this in the form of a short tone poem.
