The opening of Handel's Messiah arranged for recorder ensemble (SopSAATB+Cb). The Sinfonia comprises of two movements and is approximately 3 minutes long. This arrangement is appropriate for advanced school recorder ensembles, or experienced amateur recorder ensembles.

The optional contrabass really grounds the whole piece, or if you have access to the instruments you might like to play the whole opening down two instruments (the sopranino playing an alto, the soprano playing a tenor and so on). It has a much bigger, richer sound!
