Movement 5 Allegro This movement was influenced by the crazed air of the Folia (madness) dances of the Baroque era. However, it is not titled as such because a true La Folia is strongly associated with a certain harmonic progression which this piece does not incorporate. This is another eccentric dance that shares the satiric character of the earlier Valse, but faster and wilder. It follows a ternary form- dance/trio/dance. However, instead of the usual binary dance section, it uses a rondo instead. This is the only movement that does not contain the opening motif of the first movement somewhere within. Instead, the trio is a reprise of the second movement
