This is the fourth movement of "The Recovery Suite" as commissioned by the Aurora History Museum of Aurora, Colorado for their exhibit on "9/11: The First 24 Hours."
"Pensive" depicts the time when loved ones wondered about the safety of someone who might have been lost in the tragedy. The interesting thing is that in addition to the repetitive clock-like note, there is a musical question and answer and regardless of the question, the answer always seems to be the same - just with a different rhythm.
