This piece was first performed by Adam Swain and Terence Allbright at Chichester University Chapel on 22/10/10. Shortly after this performance I revised the second and third movements. This is that revised version.

The first movement starts full of energy but eventually the energy is spend and the movement ends on a cadence of calm. Whilst the first movement is very chromatic the second movement, by contrast, is more diatonic in nature. Throughout the third movement there is a constant play between the tonic being E or E flat. At the end it is E flat that prevails.
