This piece was written for my MA in English Cathedral Music. The text is that of the three Antiphons for the second nocturn of Matins from the medival Use of Salisbury. The three groups of instruments represent the persons of the Trinity. The brass represent the Father, a group of strings represent the Son, and the woodwind represent the Holy Spirit. The choir's music is based on the medival chant. A much fuller commentary is available from me if anyone is interested. Please let me know if you wish to perform it and I'll supply parts. I've never heard it 'live' so I'd be delighted to attend a premiere!
