A string Adagio, forming part of 'Monkey Music', a suite loosely based on the Chinese novel "Journey to the West". The title refers to the cave which the King of Monkeys chose as home-base for his monkey tribe. There the correspondence ends, however, for while the cave of the story was the scene of an unspeakable hubbub, in this piece it is a haven of tranquil meditation.
