You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices.Saxophone quartet, AATB or optional SATB. This short nostalgic piece recreates the fleeting experience of remembering a time in the past and wondering, What Might Have Been. It starts with a single quiet thought, heard in the lead alto, which mellows into a warm remembrance of that special time, as other voices join in. There's a slow-paced bittersweet feeling, expressed by simple harmonies spiked by a persistent dissonance. Then the mood changes to a memory of the happiest of times when all was well and life was a dance. But the bittersweet mood returns, the harmonies and dissonance are felt once more, and at last the memory fades away.
