This middle section of the Introduction,Allegro, & Finale for Brass Quintet, started life thinking it would be a passacaglia. Instead, it is simply a quick handful of variations, though the idea of the passacaglia lingers. The piece borrows elements from the fugal form though never truly develops any one variation as such.
