This piece is basically a Rag but begins with a Boogie type of bass line. The form of the piece is A-B-A'-coda. The first part of the A-sectionuses the whole tone scale. The melody of the B section is mainly pentatonic. The coda is very dramatic and makes extensive use of chromaticism.
