Iain is the Scottish spelling of Ian, a variant of John and is the name we gave our third child, who turned out to be very musical. In trying to make a musical representation of his name, I decided the repeated letter I, separated by two different letters led to a germ of a musical idea.
The version I have uploaded is the simple version returning to the first theme quite soon. When I get going on improvising a middle section it can go anywhere, and only with a struggle does it settle back to the first theme.
Pastiche? Not consciously so, but it sounds a lot more polite and orderly than the four-year-old that inspired it!
