This piano concerto is intended for non-professional level, probably junior or senior high school, with a fairly "big" and, hopefully, impressive sound. Since available instrumentation will vary between schools, substitution of orchestral instruments may be necessary such as, for instance, saxophones for horns. It may be useful for introducing students to another type of music than jazz bands and giving them a desire to pursue another field of music.
