In this musical piece, I wanted to represent a warming melody to express a musical piece in an overture musical style (ABA). It starts out with a fast tempo of quarter note equals 150. It sounds harder than it actually is, because of the division of sixteenth notes in the first and second parts. In about the 3rd page, it forms into the basic overall melody of the song.
Next, after a few measures, it slows down with a blend of timpani and cymbals. After that, it starts the slow section with piano and percussion. After a few solos from the optional soprano saxophone part, piccolo, and trumpet part, there is a cadenza for the soprano sax., but is transposed in the woodwinds and trumpets.
Finally, it accelerates from quarter note equals 80 to the original tempo and repeats the fast part. After changing to four flats, and repeating, then it ends with a trumpet fanfare in the key of F Major.
The overture that I’m writing is dedicated to my loving girlfriend, Melanie, who I have been going out with for almost a year.
