Popper Mazurka No. 1 Op. 11 No. 3 was composed in 1874. It was published the following year by Senff in Leipzig. The piece is dedicated to Bernhard Cossmann, a German cellist who was a friend of Popper's. Cossmann (1822 – 1910). Cossmann was a highly respected cellist and teacher and was known for his beautiful tone and his technical mastery.

Here is an arrangement for cello and string orchestra.
