"Skirza" is the first movement of the "Viking Suite", which was written in 2005 for the Caithness Handbell Ringers. The Suite is for six handbell ringers, using 2 octaves of bells with optional auxiliary percussion.

Skirza is a tiny harbour on the east coast of Caithness which is likely to have been used by Viking boats. It is one of the most civilised, peaceful places on earth - well worth a visit.
