The second of Five Christmas Motets depicts the Angels announcement of Christ's birth to the Shepherds. The Angels appear mysteriously and then startle the shepherds with their outburst. Translation: "Fear not! Behold I bring you tidings of great joy. For today is born for you a savior who is Christ the Lord." The third motet is the angels' call of "Glory to God in the highest!"
The mp3 is the second of three premiere performances in early December sung by Circle Singers.
