An arrangement of this popular Tchaikovsky miniature, arranged for woodwind trio of flute, clarinet and bassoon. A bass clarinet alternative to the bassoon part is included for added flexibility.

The Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tcahikovsky was one of the most versatile composers of the romantic period, renowned as much for his charming light items as his large scale works of power and depth. Neopolitan Song clearly belongs to the former category. It features in a collection of short piano pieces written ‘for the young’ in the summer of 1878. Tchaikovsky used an orchestrated version of the piece in Act 2 of his ballet Swan Lake, in which the melody is played on a cornet.
