Scoring this movement for double reed ensemble was mostly a challenge in how high the general orchestration is. With all of the low registers of instruments omitted in the original, it left for some bassoon parts that were constantly in the high range, with the third bassoon and contra found in all of the other movements being omitted. The oboe parts also go quite high as a result, and although I considered it, I decided against lowering the key from the original in order to preserve the "miniature" aspect of the piece that Tchaikovsky intended from the high ranges. Otherwise, I quite like how this transcription turned out, though it is definitely a technical challenge to get up to speed. All oboe and bassoon parts are divisi.
